Grand Est region was created in January 2018 from the merger of Alsace, Champagne-Ardenne and Lorraine. It covers a vast territory of 57 441 km2 with a population of 5,5 millions. The region has a remarkable potential for development and attractiveness.
A region open to Europe and Switzerland
Its economic fabric counts competitive production sectors like food industries, industrial and agricultural machineries, automotive industry, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, metallurgy and mechanics. It ranks 2nd export region behind Ile de France.
Grand Est is the only region in France bordered by four different countries (Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany and Switzerland). It develops cooperations and synergies with the EEC and Switzerland, in the most diverse areas : economy, employment, training, culture, tourism, environment.
